Environments are being altered due to the change in the climate and many other factors caused by global warming. Animals are being put into danger. If the alteration of the animal's environment happens too fast, then the animals cannot adapt to this rapid change and could die off. This also known as extinction, when all the species of animals die off and no more are living on the earth. This decreases the world population and means those animals are forever gone. They did nothing wrong nor did they contribute to the change of their habitats so they should not suffer the consequences of human wrong doings.

There are eight animals and one plant which are shown by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as species effected by climate change and can go extinct.
Ringed Seals
They are forced to move further North to raise their young becasue there is no more ice for they to stay on. Going further north could be dangerous because they do not the area well or the predators that could live there already.
Emperor Penguins
Global Warming melts the ice caps in their habitats and that means less places for them as shelter, breeding spots, and for food gathering.
Arctic Foxes
They now have compititon for shelter, food, and land because the red foxes are moving into the tundra because the habitats are changed due to global warming.
Beluga Whale
More humans are intrupting them because less ice means that boat travel is easier and they go into their homes driving them out.
Staghorn Corals
Their health are at risk. The skeletons on them are being eroded due to the continuly acidifying oceans.
Clownfish
Their sense of smell whichis vital to their survival is harmed because the oceans are becoming more acidic. This makes they easier prey and and harder for they to find their own prey.
Salmon
When the water in their habitats are warmer, the amount of oxygen is decreased. This often happens in their breeding streames and rivers causing reproductionto be harder.
Koala Bears
The increasing amount of CO2 affect the trees they feed on which will decrease the amount of nutrients they will get from the leaves.
Leatherback Turtles
With increasing temperatures, the sand in which they their eggs are hotter. This changes the balanced ratio of male and females born from those eggs.
